Overview As a Maintenance/Operations Manager, you will lead maintenance planning, resource coordination, and KPI-driven improvement to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective plant operations. You'll drive continuous improvement projects and lean initiatives, aligning maintenance activities with the company's sustainability and production goals. You will manage a team, foster a positive culture, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering productivity targets. This role combines technical leadership with strategic budgeting and stakeholder collaboration to optimize equipment performance at scale.
Responsibilities- Plan and assign work orders for equipment modifications and preventive/corrective maintenance
- Coordinate maintenance resources and propose capital and continuous improvement projects
- Review equipment performance with operations to identify Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, and Customer Satisfaction issues
- Monitor KPIs and OEE to recommend operating improvements and resolve maintenance problems
- Track and improve Maintenance KPIs and drive problem-solving with Lean techniques
- Foster a positive team culture and ensure productivity targets and performance standards are met
- Ensure regulatory compliance with city, county, and state agencies
- Monitor and prepare the annual maintenance budget and assist in recruitment and training of maintenance staff
- Identify training needs and develop plans to close gaps
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management
- 5-7 years of experience in Industrial Automation, PLCs, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, Injection Molding (Packaging industry preferred)
- Management experience in operations, maintenance, engineering and/or process improvement roles with team leadership
- Lean environment experience preferred
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification a plus
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Microsoft Office proficiency; SAP knowledge preferred
