Overview

In this role you will lead the US general ledger and the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring accurate financial results. You will develop a high-performing team, uphold strong internal controls, and scale accounting processes to support growth. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver GAAP-compliant reporting and drive process improvements. This is a hands-on leadership role at a fast-paced, science-driven company shaping the financial backbone of Revolution Medicines.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the General Ledger Accounting function and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to deliver timely, accurate results
  • Manage and develop General Ledger team members with clear performance expectations and coaching
  • Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany, equity and other GL activities
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled with timely resolution of reconciling items
  • Partner with Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to support GAAP-based reporting
  • Collaborate with AP, Payroll, Procurement, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, and other functions to ensure accurate accounting for business activities
  • Review results and perform analytics to identify unusual trends and resolve issues
  • Develop and maintain internal controls over GL and close processes, ensuring SOX compliance
  • Coordinate internal and external audits related to GL and close processes
  • Establish KPIs and close metrics to improve timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements
  • Support system implementations, finance transformation, acquisitions, and cross-functional projects
  • Maintain accounting policies and documentation for GL activities and ensure consistent application
  • Serve as a trusted accounting partner to business stakeholders on processes and controls
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant GL and close experience and demonstrated leadership
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, GL, reconciliations, close processes, and internal controls
  • Experience in a public company environment with SOX compliance
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing accounting teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP and financial reporting systems
