Air Quality & Acoustics Business Line Leader - Environmental Services (Multiple Locations)

Overview

In this role you drive strategic growth, financial performance, and market leadership for the Air Quality & Acoustics Business Line. You will partner with the Technical Service Leader to align technical execution with national growth, collaborating with regional and global leaders to guide strategy, investments, and workforce planning. You lead key growth initiatives, executive client engagement, and thought leadership to strengthen Burns & McDonnell's market presence. You will shape service offerings and digital solutions while mentoring future leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Drive performance metrics (sales, revenue, gross margin, backlog, utilization) and develop annual growth plans
  • Formulate national growth strategies, lead major pursuits, and engage executive clients
  • Collaborate with TSLs and regions on workforce forecasting and capability planning
  • Monitor utilization and balance workloads across regions with cross-functional collaboration
  • Lead national business-line vision, investment priorities, and growth initiatives
  • Build strategic client relationships and strengthen brand through industry engagement and thought leadership
  • Mentor leaders, support succession planning, and foster a culture of innovation with new offerings and digital solutions
Key requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, construction management or related degree with 17 years of applicable experience
  • Prior experience on construction project sites or program management in aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water industries (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in business development, client management, and team leadership (preferred)
  • Experience supporting modern delivery methods and digital transformation initiatives (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work overtime on short notice
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to collaborate with owners, contractors, engineers, and designers in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software
