Overview

In this Senior Electrical Engineer role, you will lead the electrical discipline on data center and mission-critical projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. You'll cultivate client relationships, contribute to proposals and design reviews, and mentor junior staff. You will oversee power systems, medium-voltage distribution, UPS, standby generation, and protection coordination, ensuring code compliance and project success. This role combines technical leadership with strategic project oversight in a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the electrical team across all project phases for data center and mission-critical facilities
  • Coordinate workload and manage project schedules and budgets with project leadership
  • Serve as electrical discipline lead and participate in design reviews, meetings, and client interactions
  • Mentor junior staff and direct activities of electrical engineers
  • Support construction administration and field coordination
  • Ensure code compliance through governing reviews and coordination with authorities
  • Oversee electrical infrastructure design, including medium-voltage distribution, standby generation, UPS, paralleling switchgear, and power monitoring systems
  • Engage in business development, client relationships, and proposal efforts
  • Monitor project financial performance and resources to meet targets
  • Collaborate with Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • 10+ years of electrical design experience for buildings (lighting/power/systems)
  • Professional engineer license (PE or P.Eng)
  • Strong knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, life safety, and BMS
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and electrical design software
  • Experience with data centers, life safety, and mission-critical facilities
  • Knowledge of power system studies, arc flash, short-circuit analysis, and protective device coordination
  • Experience with Revit
