Overview In this Director-level role, you lead a sizable engineering organization to deliver enterprise-scale software that powers real-time payments. You will define the engineering strategy for major product lines, own end-to-end delivery with executive visibility, and manage significant budgets. You will drive excellence, scale the team through strategic hiring, and partner with Product, Design, and other leaders. A strong focus on innovation, quality, and collaboration will shape the engineering culture. You will engage with customers and executives to influence the company's technological direction and growth.

Responsibilities- Lead an engineering organization of 30-60 engineers across 3-5 managers
- Define and execute engineering strategy for major product lines
- Own end-to-end delivery accountability with executive visibility
- Manage budget ($2M-$5M+) including headcount and operating expenses
- Drive initiatives that impact business outcomes and revenue
- Drive engineering excellence across architecture, quality, velocity, and reliability
- Define standards, practices, and methodologies for the org
- Scale the engineering organization through strategic hiring and leadership development
- Foster an innovative, quality-focused, collaborative culture
- Build strategic partnerships with Product, Design, and other Engineering leaders
- Present strategy, progress, and recommendations to executives
- Collaborate on enterprise initiatives and technical strategy
- Promote AI-assisted development and transformative engineering practices
- Represent engineering in customer and partner engagements as needed
Key requirements- 10-15 years of software engineering or technology leadership experience
- 5+ years managing engineering managers and leading large teams
- Proven track record delivering complex, enterprise-scale software products
- Experience with P&L management, budget ownership, and resource planning
- Payments, financial services, or regulated industry experience preferred
- Deep understanding of enterprise-scale software architecture
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Strong focus on engineering metrics and organizational effectiveness
- Executive communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred
- Equivalent experience may substitute for degree
