Overview In this role you will design and improve tooling, machines, and production controls to support the bearing manufacturing process. You will drive process improvements, explore new technology, and implement equipment setups that meet quality standards at scale. You'll contribute to floor layout decisions and cost estimation while supporting new programs through process development. You'll also teach others to operate new equipment and ensure reliable performance, all within a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Develop and improve processes, tooling, and production controls
- Stay informed on new manufacturing technology and assess its applicability
- Set up new equipment and ensure proper operation and user training
- Design tools and machines for company product manufacture, including complex systems
- Support new programs by developing processes and production controls
- Plan floor layouts and assist with costing and quotes
- Develop and improve production tooling and machining methods
Key requirements- BSME or BS in engineering with relevant industrial technology coursework
- Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment
- Special consideration for bearing manufacturing or precision grinding background
- Knowledge of mechanical principles and machining practices related to precision grinding
- Familiarity with CNC machines and high-volume automated production equipment
- Ability to understand interrelationships of manufacturing equipment and tooling factors
