Production Supervisor

In this role you lead 10-20 production staff and 1-3 lead operators, planning workloads and coaching performance. You drive safety, quality, and efficiency, partnering with operations and HR to meet production goals and budgets. You will manage inventories, implement Lean initiatives, and lead special projects while acting as a back-up for operations management. Occasional travel and overtime support plant needs. You shape production excellence within a building envelope manufacturing context.

• Direct and supervise daily production activities across work centers
• Back-up machinery operation as needed
• Determine labor requirements and hire personnel per budgets
• Conduct performance reviews and maintain performance reports
• Ensure PPE usage and enforce safety policies
• Coach employee development and handle employee relations with HR
• Lead waste reduction efforts using COS and SQDC boards
• Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventories
• Lead special projects and serve as back-up for management
• Maintain time and attendance records

• Knowledge in wood products or related industry
• Knowledge of safety procedures (lockout/tagout)
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Ability to identify quality defects and implement corrective actions
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Basic math and reading abilities
• Ability to use measuring gauges (e.g., tape measures)
• Problem-solving skills under stress
• Associate degree (or 3-5 years related manufacturing experience) and 5+ years supervisory experience
