Overview In this role you lead multi-discipline design teams to deliver facility projects from planning through construction, driving on-time, on-budget outcomes. You'll actively develop clients and oversee project execution within HDR's Building Engineering Services, contributing to sustainable, high-performance environments. You'll mentor staff, support marketing efforts, and occasionally travel regionally, all within HDR's employee-owned culture that values inclusion and impact.
Responsibilities- Lead multidiscipline design teams through planning, design, permitting and construction phases
- Manage client development and account management for the Charlotte design center
- Execute projects using HDR's systems and project management tools
- Coordinate with sub-consultants and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery
- Build team technical expertise through recruitment, training, and mentorship
- Support external marketing and regional/national planning efforts
- Handle contract prep, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and quality control
- Lead and participate in client presentations and project memoranda/reports
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 7+ years related experience
- 2+ years project management experience
- Ability to collaborate with diverse design teams and strong organizational/communication skills
- Willingness to travel regionally
- PE license preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
