Overview In this Tax Manager role, you will oversee the end-to-end preparation and review of client tax returns, handling complex tax scenarios with guidance from the firm's partners. You will lead and develop tax staff, engage in tax planning with clients, and liaise with other departments to support larger engagements. Responsibilities- Oversee preparation, review, and timely delivery of all client tax returns
- Approve complex tax returns and governmental examinations; delegate work to preparers
- Provide expertise on advanced tax issues and assist with client meetings and planning
- Serve as a resource for tax staff and A&A team on tax matters
- Manage service delivery within budgeted time and ensure accurate billing
- Represent clients in government tax examinations when required
- Drive tax software evaluation and recommend tools to partners
- Contribute to firm practice development and community/industry involvement
- Supervise and coach Tax staff across levels; participate in performance reviews
Key requirements- 5-7 years of public accounting experience with increasing tax complexity
- Minimum 1 year supervising tax preparers
- Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA license required
- Master's degree in taxation preferred
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance and planning for individuals and businesses
