Overview In this Senior Accountant role you will perform complex accounting tasks and analysis, supporting both internal and external audits. You will drive the month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations while managing cash, tax provisions, and financial reporting. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including payroll, invoicing, and procurement to ensure accurate financials. This position offers visibility into a technology company's financial operations and opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
Responsibilities- Perform month-end reconciliations and provide insightful analysis of account components
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries
- Process daily cash receipts and maintain banking/cash files
- Submit invoices and receiving reports in iRPT for customer deliveries
- Prepare cost-plus billings with appropriate approvals
- Support internal and external audit engagements (DCMA)
- Review AR aging and follow up with customers for collections
- Maintain daily inventory reconciliation and month-end inventory reporting
- Maintain Fixed Asset subsidiary ledger
- Prepare sales/use tax analysis and monthly prepayments and quarterly returns
- Prepare tax provisions including 1099s, property tax, income tax, fixed assets, prepaids, IRAD
- Provide backup support to departments (Payroll, SO Processing/Invoicing)
- Prepare financial reports in FCC/Essbase
- Participate in invoicing/cash forecasting
- May lead tasks or parts of a project and mentor less experienced staff
- Suggest improvements to accounting policies and procedures
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 5+ years directly related experience, government contracting preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- CPA license a plus
- Deltek Costpoint experience a plus
