Overview

You will leverage legal expertise to manage complex motions, trials, and appeals, while maintaining high professional standards and on call readiness. Responsibilities
  • Represent the Commonwealth at all stages of criminal prosecutions
  • Review charging decisions and materials for indictment consideration
  • Conduct grand jury investigations and handle pre-trial hearings and motions
  • Manage arraignments, bail requests, dangerousness hearings, and related proceedings across courts
  • Try cases, handle pleas and sentencing, and pursue post-conviction matters
  • Provide discovery to defense counsel and interact with victims and witnesses
  • Mentor District Court ADAs and collaborate with law enforcement and court staff
  • Stay updated on court decisions, statutes, and evidentiary rules
  • Maintain professionalism and compassionate interactions with victims and the public
  • Be available on an on-call basis and capable of crisis management
Key requirements
  • Juris Doctorate and license to practice in MA
  • Experience prosecuting homicides as first or second chair
  • Significant trial experience (pre-trial motions, bench trials, jury trials)
  • Strong written and oral advocacy and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to collaborative, positive working relationships
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and deadlines
  • Proficiency with computers and office technology
  • Willingness to travel to crime scenes and courtrooms
  • Team player with interviewing and presentation skills
