Responsibilities- Develop and implement underwriting strategies aligned with company goals and market conditions
- Monitor profitability through rate, reserves, and pricing program performance
- Lead underwriting team, focus on talent development and succession planning
- Collaborate with Actuarial, Data & Analytics, Claims, Risk, and Compliance
- Maintain broker/agent relationships to identify opportunities
- Ensure compliance with underwriting authority, audits, and catastrophe management
- Oversee FAC Reinsurance placement and binding
- Guide and educate team on underwriting guidelines and appetite changes
- Analyze data, productivity, and loss trends to optimize workflow and strategy
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders on changes and prioritization
- Maintain engagement with operations for policy assembly and premium accounting
- Maintain compliance programs and regulatory awareness
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years P&C commercial underwriting experience
- 5-10 years progressive leadership/management experience
- Proven track record in underwriting strategy, portfolio profitability, and leadership
- Industry designations: CPCU, ARM, AFIS, or AINS
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Experience leading transformation and change initiatives
- Willingness to travel overnight (25%)
