Overview In this role you support the Tax Director in preparing US federal income tax returns and related activities. You will work on consolidated corporate filings and non-consolidated entities, collaborating with the corporate tax team to ensure accurate reporting. You'll engage with tax technology, data handling, and SOX controls to strengthen the tax return process. This position offers a hands-on chance to impact tax compliance and process improvements in a hybrid setup near Phoenix.
Responsibilities- Prepare consolidated US federal corporate income tax return data and filings using CorpTax-based applications
- Prepare additional US federal income tax returns for entities not in the consolidated filing
- Assist with tax technical research, tax technology, and process design
- Maintain and support tax department applications and databases
- Implement SOX controls related to US tax return preparation
- Reconcile US federal tax returns with amounts in the financial statements
- Support IRS audit documentation requirements
- Perform other duties as required
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field plus 4 years of tax/accounting experience; or Bachelor's degree plus 2 years as an Accountant at a Big 4 firm
- Experience with U.S. income tax rules, especially corporate consolidations
- Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft tools (SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
- Proficient in tax and accounting research tools such as BNA, RIA, CCH
