Overview

In this role, you manage project document development for healthcare projects, ensuring quality and alignment with schedules. You will lead cross-functional design disciplines to develop technical solutions and collaborate with the Project Manager to safeguard budget and project health. The position sits in our Charlotte Education/K-12 Studio within a hybrid work model, focusing on impactful school design. You help advance DLR Group's mission by elevating the human experience through thoughtful, evidence-based design.

Responsibilities
  • Apply practice standards and maintain design/technical skill across deliverables
  • Ensure BIM standards, QA/QC, and clash detection resolution
  • Plan, design, and coordinate projects of varying sizes with advanced concepts
  • Coordinate drawings with specification writer and assist in sections
  • Review cost estimates and manage time per project workplan
  • Communicate effectively with project team and lead design collaboration
  • Engage peers and specialists for holistic solutions and client presentations
  • Meet deliverable deadlines and maintain alignment with project budget
  • Lead design disciplines to develop technical solutions
  • Work with contractor across design-build, design-assist, and design-bid-build
  • Understand schematic design through project close-out
  • Self-manage and guide production team during design/docs
  • Provide QA/QC and strive for design/technical excellence
  • Maintain high level of technical proficiency in drawings and documentation
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Designers in conceptual development
  • Grow as a leader coordinating with engineers, interior designers, PM, and consultants
Key requirements
  • 7-11 years of professional architecture experience
  • Experience on public projects, preferably Education / K-12
  • Proficient in REVIT and CAD modeling/rendering
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Licensure, preferred
  • Portfolio/work samples in PDF format required
  • Effective communication (written, oral, visual)
  • Team leadership and collaboration
