Overview As a Commercial Underwriter at SageSure, you will evaluate new and renewal business and make risk-based decisions for commercial lines. You'll analyze property inspection reports, manage inquiries from agents, and collaborate with IT to resolve system issues. You will monitor coastal state market conditions and contribute to product and service innovation. This role centers on customer-focused underwriting and broker relationships, with opportunities to influence underwriting practices and growth in catastrophe-exposed property insurance.
Responsibilities- Review and decide on new and renewal business in the referral system
- Approve or deny bind requests
- Assess property inspection reports and take underwriting action
- Handle inquiries from agents and referrals from support vendors
- Analyze coastal state market conditions and insurance environment
- Recommend innovative or new product/service offerings
- Coordinate with IT to resolve agency system issues
- Evaluate risk eligibility using underwriting judgment and prior claims
- Manage producer and customer relationships
- Complete ad-hoc projects as assigned
Key requirements- 4-6 years of underwriting experience in commercial lines
- Strong knowledge of commercial line underwriting procedures and coverage
- Ability to interpret data and make calculated risk decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication

- Capable of working under minimal supervision
- College degree or equivalent experience
