Overview In this role you design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure security, integrity, and availability. You optimize the data environment, automate data feeds, and troubleshoot access issues while supporting software developers and data users. You will lead technical projects, mentor junior staff, and drive automation of routine tasks. The position emphasizes HA/DR, capacity planning, and performance tuning in a collaborative, cross-functional setting.
Responsibilities- Define and implement database management policies; manage backup/recovery and parameter configuration
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server environments (production, test, development, disaster recovery)
- Optimize access, resources, and performance; monitor and tune databases; plan capacity
- Support multiple services with diverse users; ensure data integrity and accessibility
- Lead technical projects; mentor junior staff; drive automation of admin tasks
- Contribute to organizational initiatives and data management strategy
Key requirements- BA/BS degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Deep expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server design, administration, and performance tuning
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor staff
- Familiarity with HA/DR solutions (Oracle Data Guard, RAC; SQL Server Always On, FCI, replication, log shipping, backup/recovery)
- Experience with SQL Server 2016/2019/2022+ and related security, maintenance plans, Agent, monitoring, and migrations
- Experience with performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and troubleshooting in Oracle and SQL Server
