Overview

As the onsite HR leader at the Clay Center manufacturing facility, you drive strategic people initiatives and oversee day-to-day HR operations. You collaborate with the plant leadership team to align talent management, engagement, and workforce planning with business goals, while ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience. You'll address employee relations, recruitment, performance, compensation, and HR administration to support manufacturing excellence. This role offers impact through shaping culture, improving metrics, and enabling continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Advise the General Manager and leadership team on people strategy and organizational development
  • Lead workforce and succession planning and monitor engagement, retention, and productivity metrics
  • Coach managers on leadership effectiveness and employment practices
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and employee development for hourly and salaried roles
  • Manage HR operations including hiring, transfers, leaves, separations, and records
  • Partner with Payroll and maintain HRIS data integrity; support compensation, benefits, and leave administration
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and OSHA/EEO/FMLA/ADA/FLSA regulations
  • Prepare HR metrics reports to inform business decisions
  • Represent and promote an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture
  • Coordinate leave administration and return-to-work processes
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing
  • Experience as HR Manager or senior HR Generalist preferred
  • Experience leading employee relations investigations and performance management
  • Solid knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
  • Strong business acumen with influence across leadership
  • Experience with HRIS; UKG experience preferred
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification preferred
