Overview In this role you serve as a strategic HR partner to multiple functions across Compass Minerals, aligning HR initiatives with business goals. You will drive organizational effectiveness, engagement, and workforce planning in a multi-site environment. You analyze HR data, lead change initiatives, and ensure compliant, consistent HR practices. You help build a positive employee experience and influence culture to support growth and operational priorities.
Responsibilities- Partner with business leaders to align workforce strategies with business objectives and strengthen engagement, retention and culture across facilities
- Provide strategic HR support to multiple functions at the corporate office, including Sales, Finance, IT and related areas
- Analyze HR data and trends to generate insights and recommend program enhancements
- Lead organizational design, workforce planning and change management related to performance management, compliance and employee relations
- Manage complex employee relations matters, investigations and resolutions
- Recommend and implement enhancements to HR policies and lead changes
- Lead development and execution of employee engagement strategies
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and mitigate regulatory risk
- Guide managers on performance management, communication and leadership development
- Identify skill gaps and implement targeted development and training solutions
- Enhance talent processes to maximize retention including recruiting, performance management and succession planning
- Ensure accurate HRIS processing and data integrity
- Collaborate with field HRBPs, centers of excellence and shared services to deliver integrated HR solutions
- Contribute to HR systems optimization and tool usage
- Provide guidance to employees on HR programs and policies to ensure a positive experience
- Maintain expert knowledge of employment laws; partner with Legal on high-risk matters
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 7-10 years of progressive HR experience with significant employee relations
- Ability to partner with and influence leaders in a multi-site environment
- Strong analytical skills with HR metrics to inform decisions
- Experience leading change initiatives and driving HR transformation
- May require up to 10% travel
- Preferred: labor relations experience in a unionized environment
- Preferred: professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
