Overview As Senior Legal Counsel, Supply Chain, you will serve as a strategic partner to Fluence's global procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams. You will structure, negotiate, and manage complex commercial transactions across the energy storage value chain. You will advise on regulatory, IP, trade, and supplier-related matters in a fast-paced, global setting. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you help balance commercial objectives with risk management to enable scalable, compliant operations. This is a chance to shape contracting playbooks and templates that support Fluence's mission to accelerate a sustainable energy future.
Responsibilities- Draft, negotiate, and manage broad commercial agreements (SPAs, addenda, supply, manufacturing, design, licensing, NDAs, logistics, services, and more).
- Lead negotiations on pricing, volumes, forecasts, warranties, SLAs, IP, indemnities, liability limits, and dispute mechanisms.
- Provide legal support for global sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, and supplier management.
- Advise on supply continuity, capacity planning, allocation risks, transitions, inventory commitments, and supplier performance remedies.
- Support contract manufacturing and key supplier relationships across NA, Europe, and Asia.
- Resolve supplier disputes, quality issues, warranty claims, delivery performance, and escalations.
- Advise on domestic manufacturing and supply chain regulatory requirements (including domestic content and government incentives).
- Support export controls, sanctions, trade compliance, and anti-corruption efforts.
- Advise on IP matters within supply/manufacturing transactions; coordinate with IP teams on ownership, licensing, and know-how.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Compliance; develop templates, playbooks, risk matrices, and training.
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 7+ years of legal experience with commercial transactions
- Significant experience drafting and negotiating complex supply chain, procurement, or manufacturing agreements
- Strong understanding of warranty, indemnification, risk allocation, liability limits, and IP
