Overview

In this Senior Associate role you will deliver high-quality external audits from planning to completion, across a diverse client base. You'll work with senior leaders, gain exposure to a wide range of sectors, and take on greater ownership of engagements. You'll build technical capability, commercial understanding, and strong relationships with clients and colleagues, supported by PwC's national and global network. The role blends on-site client work with collaboration across teams to ensure quality and efficiency, including the use of AI-enabled audit tools.

Responsibilities
  • Lead key areas of external audit engagements from planning through completion
  • Engage directly with clients to understand business, risks, processes and financial information
  • Apply sound judgment to complex issues and propose practical solutions
  • Review internal controls, financial statements and audit evidence per PwC methodology and auditing standards
  • Coach and review the work of graduates and junior team members
  • Collaborate with Managers, Directors and specialists to deliver outcomes for clients
  • Utilize technology and AI-enabled audit tools to support quality and efficient delivery
  • Spend time on-site with clients and in the Hamilton office, with options to work from home
  • Fulfill a full-time schedule (Mon-Fri, minimum 37.5 hours)
Key requirements
  • 3+ years of external audit experience, ideally in a large or internationally recognised firm
  • Experience leading or contributing to end-to-end external audit engagements
  • Professional accounting qualification (CAANZ, CPA, ACCA, ICAEW) or progress toward
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, including IFRS
  • Experience coaching or supervising junior team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, commerce or related discipline
