Overview In this role you drive strategic procurement for the Starlink program, aligning supplier networks with design and production goals. You will work cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing to secure parts, improve lead times, and reduce cost while ensuring contract compliance. The role emphasizes fast problem solving, data-driven sourcing, and influencing senior stakeholders to enable scalable production. This is a high-impact position that connects procurement strategy with Starlink's mission to provide global internet access using SpaceX technologies.
Responsibilities- Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices for assigned category
- Forecast demand, evaluate capacity, and manage supply signals
- Track high risk components and supplier delivery performance
- Communicate clearly to influence vendor decisions and senior leadership
- Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs
- Create sourcing strategies for mechanical custom and COTS hardware
- Develop a preferred supplier network to minimize cost and lead time
- Manage outsource fabrication projects and vendor performance
- Author contracts with legal department and ensure contract obligations are met
- Understand contract interrelationships and apply creative, sound business reasoning
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, material planning, production planning, supply chain management, or engineering; or 5+ years in lieu of degree
