Assistant Financial Controller

Job description

Overview

In this role you will support the finance team by delivering accurate financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will partner with cross-functional teams and assist audits while driving process improvements. You'll work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure GAAP compliance and effective planning. This is an opportunity to shape financial processes in a global manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, consolidate, and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting with variance analysis
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls aligned with COSO and GAAP
  • Perform general ledger activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory accounting standards
  • Utilize Macola ERP, Excel, and support reporting through BPC
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors by preparing schedules and documentation
  • Monitor changes in accounting regulations to maintain compliance
  • Support process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting function
  • Provide guidance and oversight to team members on daily accounting activities
  • Additional duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting or assistant controller experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and standard cost accounting
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
