Overview In this role you drive strategic transformation for law departments and law firms, leading advisory engagements on operating models, technology and AI strategy, and organizational design. You work with senior executives to diagnose challenges, shape actionable recommendations, and guide implementation, while coaching cross-border delivery teams. You contribute thought leadership on legal transformation and emerging practices. This is a high-impact consulting leadership position within Deloitte's Legal Business Services.
Responsibilities- Lead advisory engagements on legal operating models, organizational design, technology strategy, and process optimization for law departments and law firms
- Serve as primary client engagement lead, managing relationships, scope, deliverables, and timelines
- Design and facilitate workshops and strategy sessions to diagnose challenges and craft solutions
- Manage engagement economics, resourcing, and cross-team coordination
- Coach and lead Senior Consultants and Consultants across delivery teams
- Oversee development of client deliverables, proposals, and strategy documents with quality oversight
- Analyze legal spend, benchmarking, and organizational effectiveness
- Develop insights on legal transformation strategy, technologies, AI applications, and best practices
- Identify new client opportunities and support business development
- Contribute to practice development through thought leadership and industry engagement
Key requirements- 5+ years of relevant consulting or legal services experience
- Experience leading or supporting organizational design, operating model development, or business transformation
- Experience with law departments or law firms on operations, strategy, or transformation
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially PowerPoint
- Knowledge of legal technology platforms and applications
- Experience in professional services or advisory roles
- Advanced experience with technology strategy, legal tech, analytics, or AI tools (including Claude)
- Ability to travel 25%
- One of several professional certifications or advanced degrees listed (CPA, Attorney, LLM, Enrolled Agent, PMP, etc.)
- Hybrid work eligibility in the US with in-person presence 2-3 days/week
