Overview As a SQL Server Database Administrator, you ensure reliability, performance and security of databases across development to production. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to keep systems available and responsive, while implementing HA/DR strategies and automating routines. You'll diagnose and resolve issues end-to-end, mentor peers, and support customers and stakeholders. This role combines hands-on DBA work with service-management disciplines to drive stable, scalable data platforms.
Responsibilities- Manage SQL Server databases across multiple lifecycle environments (development to production)
- Configure, maintain and monitor database servers for performance, health, security
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization
- Plan, deploy, and troubleshoot high-availability environments (Always-On, Clustering, Mirroring)
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve issues in real time and end-to-end
- Refine, automate, track issues, and document changes for efficiency and cost optimization
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems and after-hours release deployments
- Share domain expertise, mentor teammates and provide cross-training
- Collaborate with end customers, business stakeholders and technical resources
Key requirements- Around 8 years of SQL Server DBA experience in an enterprise environment with multiple databases
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization using native tools
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
- Experience in database administration
- Experience with incident and problem queue management
- Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for SQL Server
- Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
- Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in rapidly changing environments
- Strong ITIL foundation and Continual Service Improvement experience
