Responsibilities- Review and approve tax returns and government examinations of complexity
- Lead larger tax returns and delegate to preparers
- Advise clients using advanced technical tax skills
- Ensure timely, complete tax preparation within budget
- Participate in client meetings and tax planning efforts
- Mentor and train tax staff; supervise seniors and staff accountants
- Communicate tax developments to firm personnel and represent clients in examinations
- Support practice development and referral networks
- Ensure smooth tax return workflow and accurate billing and collections
- Evaluate and recommend tax software for partners
Key requirements- 5-7 years in public accounting with increasing tax complexity
- Minimum 1 year supervising tax preparers
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA license (required)
- Master's degree in taxation preferred but not required
