Resident Engineer II - Bridge

Overview

In this role you will provide program-level leadership and overall field management for a major, multi-phase infrastructure initiative along the I-95 corridor in the Greater Portland area. You will supervise project staff, ensure contract compliance, and lead technical decisions to support safe, timely, and on-budget delivery. You will collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to advance a landmark transportation program through delivery and completion. This position offers a rare opportunity to shape a high-impact project over seven years in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop project scope and fee quotation and assist in technical proposals and contracts
  • Coordinate project activities, establish priorities, and allocate staff
  • Prepare Daily activity summaries and monitor contractor progress against schedule
  • Resolve technical field issues and coordinate with Architects and Engineers for timely RFIs
  • Oversee project controls and review contractor schedules and submittals
  • Develop submittal strategies that align with schedule requirements
  • Implement the project delivery plan using SDA on each project
  • Lead development and execution of the project management plan
  • Mentor and supervise project staff toward objectives
  • Identify and resolve non-compliant work and enforce contract plans and specifications
  • Clarify change orders, develop estimates, and write change orders
  • Provide cost control and quality control within discipline
  • Support business development with Client Service Leaders and pursuit teams
  • Prepare proposal and presentation materials for mini-mega and mega projects
  • May recruit and develop construction staff and manage performance and succession
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 10 years construction related experience
  • All jurisdictional certificates

  • Traffic control, MOT, and work zone management
  • Embankment preload/surcharge operations and settlement monitoring
