Overview

As Tax Manager at RSM, you guide multinational corporate clients on tax strategy, planning, and compliance, leveraging cross-functional collaboration to deliver technology-enabled services. You mentor staff, review complex tax returns, and coordinate client service to support business decisions. You stay current on tax law changes and identify opportunities for new business and tax issue recognition. This role offers scope to lead client engagements while developing people and delivering measurable impact within a global firm.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and coach staff, including performance feedback
  • Train and develop team members
  • Review and analyze complex corporate tax returns
  • Handle multiple complex issues and translate technical details for clients and service teams
  • Act as Tax client service coordinator for appropriate clients
  • Advise clients on planning, research, compliance, and M&A activities
  • Review research findings for policy and standards alignment
  • Assist with new business development and tax issue recognition
  • Manage client needs for corporate tax services and federal/state compliance
  • Stay updated on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Some travel may be required
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Accounting
  • CPA, JD, LLM, or EA
  • Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience
  • Experience with C-Corps
  • Ability to engage with clients to gather required information and answer questions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously (preferred)
  • Experience with international tax matters (a plus)
  • Fluency in French, German, Japanese, or Mandarin (a plus)
  • Proven track record managing relationships with large non-US companies with North American operations (a plus)
  • Strong communication (verbal and written)
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Relationship management
  • ASC 740 knowledge (preferred)
  • Tax code expertise and technical tax preparation/ compliance
  • Experience with accounting for income taxes
