Family Medicine Residency Program Director

Overview

As an accomplished Residency Director, you will lead the Family Medicine residency program's medical, educational, and administrative activities, aligning with ACGME and RRC requirements. You will supervise residents, mentor faculty, and shape curriculum while integrating the program across LVHN divisions. You'll oversee patient care involvement at multiple sites and drive academic initiatives such as research and curriculum development. This role places you at the center of a mission-driven, teaching-focused department within a Magnet hospital. You will partner with GME and Education teams to advance program visibility and outcomes, locally and nationally.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and role model clinical and reflective skills to residents; precept at hospital and community sites; mentor residents
  • Coordinate curricular responsibilities and ensure alignment with accreditation standards
  • Provide direct patient care at Residency Family Medicine Practice sites (onsite and off-site)
  • Direct planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical curricula and administrative activities; ensure accreditation compliance
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate residents and faculty; oversee curriculum and evaluation processes
  • Maintain records and reports for the residency and patient care; participate in the Graduate Medical Education Committee
  • Coordinate with the Department of Education to maximize CMS reimbursement for residency programs; represent the residency regionally and nationally
  • Engage in academic activities: research, manuscript preparation, presentations; contribute to curriculum development
  • Uphold LVHN, LVPG values; foster customer relations and collaborative teamwork; act as educator and resource on Family Medicine goals
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and external partners; maintain confidentiality and professional standards
Key requirements
  • M.D. (or equivalent); accredited from a Family Medicine Residency Program
  • Board certified in Family Medicine
  • Teaching experience in a Family Medicine residency program
  • Minimum of five years of full-time professional activity in family medicine
