Overview In this role you guide complex tax engagements for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts within a long-established CPA firm. You will lead client relationships, oversee engagement teams, and ensure high-quality tax planning and compliance. You'll work cross-functionally to advise on strategies, supervise staff, and stay current with tax developments. Responsibilities- Own client relationships and engagement delivery (financial statements, tax returns, work papers)
- Perform technical and strategic reviews to ensure quality and timeliness
- Review complex returns (international, federal, multi-state) for various entities
- Provide client-focused guidance and identify growth opportunities
- Research tax issues and deliver practical solutions
- Mentor, coach, supervise, and evaluate staff
- Participate in business development and client relationship management
- Assist in strategic development of the department
- Foster a collaborative, ethical team culture
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration with advisors to optimize client outcomes
Key requirements- 8+ years of recent public accounting tax experience
- Experience preparing/reviewing complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
- Year-end tax planning experience
- CPA, EA, or equivalent certification
- 4+ years of management/supervisory experience
- Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
- Strong verbal and written communication across all levels
- Proficiency with tax software and MS Office; ability to learn new tools
