Overview

As a Senior Environmental Scientist at RES, you drive complex environmental site assessments, groundwater and soil remediation, and data-driven reporting that informs ecological solutions. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver impactful projects and mentor junior staff, contributing to RES's mission of restoring land and protecting water. The role blends fieldwork with analytical reporting, requiring scientific rigor and proactive problem solving. You will lead field teams, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and help shape regulatory strategy and project delivery. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to expand RES's impact through leadership and technical excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Organize and supervise field sampling and data collection for complex site assessments
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with regional requirements
  • Mentor junior staff on SOPs and safety protocols
  • Analyze large environmental datasets and lab results
  • Translate findings into clear, accurate technical reports
  • Support project managers to ensure timely, thorough project deliverables
  • Lead field teams and contribute to cross-disciplinary project work
  • Complete RES project manager program as part of employment
Key requirements
  • 8+ years of professional experience (or 5+ years with an advanced degree)
  • Advanced experience in environmental site assessment and/or groundwater/soil remediation
  • Proficient in field sampling procedures and data collection techniques
  • Experience managing large datasets and analyzing complex environmental data
  • Familiarity with regional regulatory requirements and agency SOPs
  • Strong technical report writing skills
  • Experience mentoring junior scientists and leading field teams
  • Experience with the FDEP PRP program
