Overview As a Construction Services Lead in HDR's North Carolina Water Business Group, you will oversee delivery of municipal water construction programs and guide a growing team. You will partner with design and client teams to translate designs into installed infrastructure, while managing field activities and project coordination. This role combines leadership of a diverse services team with hands-on collaboration on water and wastewater projects, driving quality and schedule outcomes. You'll operate within HDR's employee-owned culture to shape critical water infrastructure for communities.
Responsibilities- Oversee delivery of multiple construction projects within the municipal water portfolio, coordinating with project, design, and client teams
- Lead the Construction Services team (Project Managers, Resident Reps, Administrative Support)
- Collaborate with design and technical staff to ensure designs are successfully implemented in field installations
- Coordinate submittals, RFIs, changes, field orders, and construction claims resolution
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients and contractors on project status
- Occasional field inspections and frequent on-site visits to active construction sites
- Note: role requires preemployment drug test
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or closely related field
- 10 years of experience in construction-related field
- Professional engineering registration or related professional registration
- Experience managing diverse teams and leading construction projects
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work collaboratively with contractors
