Overview In this role within CRA's Energy practice, you will own power and natural gas market models and leverage them to inform strategic decisions. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop scenarios, evaluate technologies, and deliver actionable insights to clients. You'll manage engagements, mentor junior staff, and present findings to client executives. Responsibilities- Maintain and steward core power and natural gas market models (capacity expansion, production cost, storage, reliability, revenue requirement)
- Develop market scenarios and assumptions; evaluate new technologies; compute LCOEs; run simulations
- Manage and contribute to engagements involving IRPs, due diligence of plants and infrastructure, reliability and RTO assessments
- Support development of advanced models through research, programming, and vetting in reliability, resource adequacy, storage, and EV/DER penetration
- Produce presentations and reports for clients with clear, concise findings
- Present findings to senior and mid-level client staff
- Oversee junior staff in report production, presentations, and market analyses
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields; 2+ years in power and/or natural gas market modeling
- Experience with AURORAxmp, PLEXOS, PROMOD, Encompass
- Project and client management experience
- Strong presentation and writing abilities
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills; mentorship orientation
