Overview

As Geographic Discipline Leader for the CEI team in Charlotte, you guide strategy and execution to strengthen our transportation inspection practice. You mentor engineers, fortify client partnerships, and drive projects that enhance mobility, safety, and quality of life in North Carolina. You steer staff development, budgets, and business growth while upholding safety and quality standards. You'll lead cross-region collaboration, shaping a growing discipline with a measurable impact.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct the work of assigned staff
  • Collaborate with other GDLs and the Regional Discipline Leader
  • Manage productivity, profitability, client satisfaction, and quality of work
  • Lead marketing and business development efforts
  • Own proposal development, contract execution, billing, and collections
  • Monitor work backlog and regional workflow; support cross-selling of services
  • Review staff utilization and performance evaluations; guide raises/bonuses
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies
  • Provide technical guidance to project managers and staff on scope, schedule, quality, and budget
  • Coordinate with accounting/billing on timely project invoicing
  • Manage financial performance of teams to meet revenue/profit goals
  • Assist QA/QC across projects
  • Address performance development of staff and participate in performance discussions
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of transportation construction inspection experience
  • 7+ years in proposals, budgeting, and financial management
  • Valid US Driver's License
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering
  • Leadership and decisive decision-making
  • Comfort with computers and software
  • Ability to work outdoors on project sites
