Overview

As Regional Category Manager, you will develop and execute sourcing strategies for chemical categories in your region, aligning with Global Category teams. You drive supplier performance, negotiate cost improvements, and ensure supply continuity to support Veolia's sustainability objectives. You will partner with Quality, Technical, and EHS teams to guarantee compliance, while collaborating with operations to secure inbound materials. This role offers visibility across regions and a chance to shape procurement in a matrixed, multicultural environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop end-to-end sourcing strategies for chemical categories and key raw materials.
  • Lead supplier qualification, performance reviews, and innovation partnerships.
  • Negotiate long-term agreements and manage supply risk through multi-sourcing or buffer strategies.
  • Perform TCO analyses and market intelligence to inform procurement decisions.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Technical, and EHS teams to ensure compliance with specifications and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with operations, planning, and logistics to ensure seamless inbound supply.
  • Monitor usage trends and work with inventory teams to address supply-demand imbalances.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve procurement operations and sustainability.
  • Stay informed on market trends and regulatory impacts (e.g., REACH, TSCA, EPA).
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Business, or similar field; MBA and/or CPSM/CPM/ CPSCM is a plus
  • Minimum five years in Procurement/Supply Chain with category management experience
  • Experience negotiating and managing suppliers in the Chemical industry, preferably water treatment
  • Strong technical expertise in chemical sourcing
  • Experience working in a matrixed, multicultural environment
