Overview

As Product Manager, FirstSearch, you lead AI-enabled discovery experiences that help researchers express intent and explore connections. You own end-to-end researcher workflows within Discovery and Delivery Services, shaping strategy, roadmaps, and pricing aligned with AI-driven expectations. You collaborate across teams to integrate semantic features with next-generation search and deliver value to member libraries. You join a mission-driven, cross-functional environment where ideas translate into scalable, user-focused solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Define strategic goals for FirstSearch and new researcher offerings
  • Develop product strategy, roadmap, and business cases for discovery features
  • Collaborate with software development on release plans and semantic integration with search results
  • Lead cross-functional product workgroups and align Development and Product Management
  • Influence pricing strategies, budgets, and market positioning
  • Partner with marketing and sales on acquisition/retention plans and market research
  • Provide training/support to sales and support teams and assist in significant sales calls
  • Analyze market performance, reasons for wins/losses, and refine user personas
  • Contribute to portfolio planning, metrics, and progress reviews
  • Oversee market analysis and production of market/sector insights and white papers
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 to 4 years of product management, user experience, or digital product/customer experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver natural language and semantic discovery solutions
  • Knowledge of AI in day-to-day workflows and linked data in discovery
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of the product lifecycle and collaboration with users, designers, researchers
  • Experience launching new ideas or product concepts and leading cross-functional teams
