Position Title: Substitute Teacher
Location: Copley-Fairlawn City Schools / Copley, OH
Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call
Pay Rate: $110/Day
Pay increase for long-term substitute assignments based on number of consecutive days
About the Role
Dedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable, adaptable, and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to support schools when full-time teachers are unavailable. This role helps ensure continuity of learning by following lesson plans, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and supporting students academic and social development.
Key Responsibilities
Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher
Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment
Provide clear instruction and guidance to students throughout the school day
Adjust to various grade levels and subject areas as needed
Take attendance and complete required documentation
Communicate effectively with school staff and administrators
Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, or other assigned duties
Required Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
Bachelors degree in any field
Valid substitute teaching license or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations)
Clean criminal background check
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different classroom environments
Patience, professionalism, and a student-focused mindset
Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching or childcare experience
Familiarity with classroom management techniques
Experience working with diverse student populations
