Overview In this role you will support a leading AmLaw 100 firm's Government Contracts & National Security practice in Washington, D.C. You will work on high-stakes matters across litigation, investigations, export controls, and regulatory counseling for aerospace, defense, and technology clients. The position offers exposure to bid protests, federal funding issues, and national security regulations, with opportunities to influence complex deals and compliance programs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risk and advance strategic goals in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation / Benefits- salary range $260,000 - $365,000

Responsibilities- Handle government contracts matters including bid protests, litigation, and investigations
- Advise on compliance with federal procurement regulations, grant requirements, and national security laws
- Support transactional matters involving government contractors, including due diligence and novations
- Assist in negotiating complex government agreements (OTAs, CRADAs, TIAs)
- Counsel on federal funding programs and compliance with statutes like the Inflation Reduction Act and CHIPS Act
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage regulatory, transactional, and enforcement risks
Key requirements- JD from a top-tier law school
- Active DC Bar admission in good standing
- 3+ years of substantive government contracts experience
- Experience or strong interest in government contracts litigation, investigations, or regulatory counseling
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- M&A or transactional experience with government contractors is a plus
- Judicial clerkship with US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit or Court of Federal Claims is valued
- Academic training in government contracts is a plus
