Overview In this role you defend civil matters, handling cases from start to resolution within a seasoned litigation team. You will own case strategy, manage complex, high-exposure files, and collaborate with clients, insurers, and opposing counsel. Responsibilities- Independently manage a caseload from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances
- Develop litigation strategy and evaluate case exposure
- Communicate directly with insurance carriers, clients, and opposing counsel
- Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial proceedings
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution
- Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and reporting
Key requirements- J.D.
- Active bar membership in Florida or South Carolina
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience
- Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management skills
- Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy abilities
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple cases simultaneously
- Trial experience is a plus but not required
- Strong communication with clients and opposing counsel
