Overview

As Director/AVP Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter in our International division, you will lead underwriting and management of proportional and non-proportional treaties for MEA ceding companies. You will work with a global team to drive profitable growth while applying advanced analytics and market knowledge. The role blends leadership, technical underwriting, and relationship management with brokers and clients across international markets. You'll travel to MEA, Europe, and other regions as needed, shaping strategy and execution within Everest's risk appetite.

Responsibilities
  • Underwrite and manage excess of loss and proportional treaty accounts within defined authority to meet profitability targets
  • Identify and secure profitable MEA opportunities and define market/underwriting strategies
  • Mentor and develop junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional functions
  • Maintain relationships with ceding companies and brokers, delivering high service levels
  • Lead marketing trips to MEA and represent Everest in client/broker meetings and industry events
  • Stay informed on MEA market developments, trends, and regulatory/industry changes
  • Ensure compliance and maintain proper documentation across files
  • Coordinate with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and contract wording teams to support business quality
  • Provide management support to Head of ME and Africa Treaty
  • Leverage internal pricing, underwriting, and cat modeling tools
Key requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a reinsurance treaty underwriter for non-life lines
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, risk management, or related field (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with catastrophe modeling and actuarial method interpretation
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities
  • Fluency in French or Arabic is ideal but not required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite and advanced Excel
  • Ability to learn company-specific electronic filing and processing systems
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and high-intensity environment handling skills
