Overview In this senior preconstruction role you will act with minimal supervision, often as the primary liaison with design teams and owners. You'll lead estimating efforts across project delivery methods, handling cost for all trades including mechanical/electrical, and producing conceptual estimates, general conditions, and logistics plans. You will mentor and train estimators and support cross-functional teams to ensure realistic, competitive project plans. Responsibilities- Performs basic estimating functions: quantity takeoff, pricing for all trades (including mechanical and electrical), and bid abstraction.
- Develops conceptual estimates for senior review.
- Justifies and reconciles Sundt estimates on projects with third-party consultants.
- Leads estimating deliverables preparation (budget uploads, purchasing plans, subcontracts, POs, General Conditions, logistics).
- Executes advanced estimating tasks: prime contact for hard bid pursuits, coordinates constructability reviews, applies indirect costs (insurance, taxes, fees).
- Coordinates with operations to develop feasible schedules, logistics, and staffing plans.
- Gives cost/constructability feedback to design team.
Key requirements- Four-year engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Project experience in one or more key market sectors identified by the business unit (preferred).
- LEED accreditation and DBIA certification or willingness to obtain.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Successful track record as prime point of contact with minimal oversight.
