Overview As Senior Philanthropy Director, you drive a multi-year Transformational Giving program to identify, engage, and solicit major donors. You'll grow and manage a high-potential portfolio spanning individuals, foundations, and corporations, shaping personalized asks and proposals. You collaborate with field and national teams to align with donor interests and the organization's mission. This role offers leadership in major gifts within a mission-driven, collaborative environment that values impact and growth.

Responsibilities- Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy and manage an assigned donor portfolio with seven-figure+ capacity
- Collaborate with field fundraisers to maximize revenue among individuals, foundations, and corporate donors under a shared credit model
- Identify and leverage relationships with families, foundation decision-makers, and C-suite contacts; secure meetings and prepare compelling proposals
- Work with other departments and national/regional offices to tailor presentations and proposals to donor/prospect objectives
- Compile and analyze data about portfolio accounts to inform solicitation strategy
- Recruit and cultivate high-net-worth donors to support the American Red Cross
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of fundraising and/or sales experience or equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of fundraising and/or sales principles in large organizations
- Successful track record in soliciting large funds
- Excellent organizational, collaborative, analytical, presentation, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of fundraising databases (Raiser's Edge, )
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Travel 25%-50% may be required
