Responsibilities- Oversee design and implementation of fire protection and life safety systems
- Provide expert guidance to ensure compliance with codes and regulations
- Lead building code consulting efforts for local, state, and national codes
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure quality solutions
- Review and approve project designs, calculations, and documentation
- Stay current with industry best practices, codes, regulations, and emerging trends
- Contribute to business development of the company
Key requirements- Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering (or equivalent related field experience)
- PE license or NICET Level IV Certification; CFPS or PMP advantageous
- 5-7+ years in the industry, with 1-2 years as a project manager
- Strong knowledge of Building and Fire Codes, Standards, and Regulations (IBC, NFPA, UFC, OBO)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and regulatory collaboration
- Ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to adopt new technologies in fire protection and life safety engineering
