Buyer III

Join ProMach as a Buyer supporting Bartelt Packaging. You will source materials, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost, quality, and on-time delivery for manufacturing operations. You'll use ERP data to monitor performance, develop suppliers, and resolve purchasing issues. This role sits at the crossroads of Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance to enable efficient, reliable procurement in a fast-paced packaging environment. You'll contribute to continuous improvement and supplier development initiatives.

• Review requisitions in ERP, assess quantities and specs, and issue RFQs for non-covered items
• Source and negotiate with subcontractors for machined, fabricated, welded components and alternate suppliers as needed
• Interpret technical drawings with vendors to confirm dimensions, tolerances, finishes
• Evaluate quotations against supplier agreements to select best sourcing options and prepare purchase orders
• Follow up on orders to ensure delivery dates, quantities, and quality meet terms
• Support supplier development through visits, audits, and performance evaluation
• Generate ERP analytics and procurement reports, maintaining records and KPIs
• Coordinate with inspection, quality, and users to address defective goods or services and implement corrective actions
• Communicate and collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Planning, and Finance
• Lead sourcing initiatives and act as a trusted procurement resource
• Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms while balancing cost, quality, and delivery

• 7+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing
• Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost-reduction initiatives
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, drawings, specifications, tolerances, and component sourcing
• Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office; Syteline experience a plus
• Proven ability to analyze procurement metrics and supplier performance for decision support
• Experience conducting supplier audits and supplier development activities
• Strong negotiation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Self-motivated, independent, and capable of leading sourcing initiatives
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or CPIM preferred
• Educational background in Business/SCM/Operations/Engineering or related field preferred
