Overview In this role you will analyze conflicts of interest for new business and lateral hires, advising on ethical issues across jurisdictions. You'll draft waivers, engagement letters, and provide legal guidance to firm lawyers, while conducting research and resolving complex conflict scenarios. You will collaborate with cross-office teams to safeguard the firm's ethical standards and policy compliance. This is a high-stakes role that shapes how the firm handles conflicts and professional responsibility at scale.

Responsibilities- Analyze conflicts of interest on new business and lateral hires.
- Resolve issues by drafting waivers and advising on withdrawal and screening.
- Act as a legal advisor to firm lawyers on conflicts-of-interest issues.
- Perform legal research and prepare memoranda for GC, firm lawyers, managers, and committees.
- Analyze complex factual situations to spot potential problems.
- Draft waivers and engagement/joint representation letters in final format.
- Negotiate between lawyers to resolve conflicts and waivers.
- Other related legal work as needed.
Key requirements- Knowledge of the Rules of Professional Conduct and their application to the practice of law.
- Understanding of jurisdictional differences in choice-of-law analysis.
- Broad understanding of various areas of law, business organizations, financing concepts, and litigation principles.
- Strong legal research and writing skills with the ability to analyze complex data.
- Attention to detail and strong critical thinking; ability to propose creative solutions.
- Project management: time management, prioritization, adaptability to deadlines.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with the department and international offices.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication across organizational levels; MS Office proficiency.
- Juris Doctorate and a minimum of three years of legal practice; active bar in any jurisdiction; able to work in the U.S.
