Account Executive Officer, Senior Underwriter - Loss Sensitive, Large Projects

Overview

In this role you drive profitability and growth for a construction loss sensitive book by underwriting and negotiating complex accounts. You work closely with internal partners and external brokers to market Travelers products and write/retain risk within our appetite. You'll identify new opportunities through consultative selling and lead agency sales planning in collaboration with leadership. The position combines technical underwriting with strategic relationship management in a dynamic market. This is a cross-functional role that shapes risk selection and client solutions at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business
  • Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to balance risk and profitability
  • Cultivate internal and cross-enterprise partnerships to develop sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers/agents through regular in-person meetings to market and sell Travelers products
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills
  • Develop and execute agency sales plans, partnering with MD to shape regional plans
  • Mentor less experienced Account Executives as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4 years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience
  • Six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience with construction loss sensitive
  • Deep knowledge of construction loss sensitive products and regulatory environment
  • CPCU designation
