Corporate Events Planner

Overview

In this role you will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of Applied Materials' global events portfolio, spanning internal conferences to executive briefings and customer summits. You will partner with Marketing, Communications and Executive teams to align events with business goals and roadmaps, while driving on-time, on-budget delivery. The position sits at the intersection of engineering culture and market-facing activities, shaping high-visibility programs in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute end-to-end corporate events, including trade shows, technical conferences, briefing programs, and strategy events
  • Develop budgets, timelines, and contracts to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Comms and Executive teams to align events with business goals and product roadmaps
  • Negotiate venue, contractor, AV, and other vendor contracts; manage external agencies/contractors
  • Oversee event registration platforms and post-event reporting (Cvent)
  • Manage risk, compliance, and safety aspects for on-site events
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity at major shows; stay updated on event technologies
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required ( 20%)
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-7 years in corporate event management with at least 3 years managing large-scale conferences
  • Strong vendor and contract negotiation skills
  • Experience with Cvent event management/registration platforms
  • Excellent project management and ability to handle competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management, including direct work with C-suite executives
