Overview

In-house Employment Practices Counsel at Cintas helps management interpret and apply employment laws, guide consistent corporate policies, and lead practices that minimize risk. You will partner with field operations and Labor Relations to educate and support supervisors, investigate issues, and deliver training. Your work shapes positive employment practices across locations and supports cost-effective resolutions aligned with the company mission.

Responsibilities
  • Advise management on policy interpretation, compliance, performance management, disciplinary processes, and general employment law
  • Serve as escalation point and liaison between field management and Deputy General Counsel
  • Deliver training for supervisors, managers, and HR staff on corporate policies, investigations, and employment law topics (ADAAA, FMLA, ADEA, Title VII)
  • Collaborate with Labor Relations Counsel and field operations on interpreting collective bargaining agreements
  • Conduct employment practices audits and investigations at field locations and provide written summaries with recommendations
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential issues to reduce risk and improve effectiveness of services
Key requirements
  • Juris Doctor Degree
  • Admitted to a state bar
  • Minimum 2 years full-time relevant legal experience
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel extensively and on short notice
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and intranet/internet
