Overview In this role you help safeguard the bank's fiduciary interests while advising on a broad range of trust and estate matters. You work closely with Wealth Management partners to interpret wills, trusts, and related documents, ensuring legal compliance and client satisfaction. You will guide risk assessments, advise on complex fiduciary issues, and support committees and internal teams. The position offers meaningful influence in shaping trust governance and fiduciary practice within a leading financial institution.

Responsibilities- Review and analyze Will and trust agreements where the bank serves in a fiduciary capacity to protect the bank and satisfy client expectations
- Review and analyze legal documents (post nuptial agreements, disclaimers, settlements, consents, waivers) and provide internal legal guidance
- Provide legal counsel to Wealth Management management on trust and fiduciary matters, including estate settlement, real estate, homestead issues, and litigation
- Serve as a resource for ongoing trust, estate, and guardianship administration matters and inquiries
- Analyze proposals to modify or terminate trusts in collaboration with the Chief Fiduciary Officer
- Advise committees on legal risk and compliance issues
- Oversee trust and estate litigation activities and coordinate with internal and external litigation teams
- Review resignations/removals and sign off on distribution memos for account terminations
- Promote the bank by attending/speaking at industry and client conferences
- Deliver educational presentations to Wealth Management internal partners
- Participate in local and state Bar meetings
Key requirements- Excellent communication skills
- Broad experience in trusts, estates, guardianships, and transfer taxes
- Ability to handle a wide range of fiduciary matters independently with strong legal analysis and judgment
- Ability to identify issues and risk to the bank and develop solutions
- Decisiveness and ability to work under short deadlines

- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Knowledge/experience in non-U.S. international trust matters and gift/transfer tax considerations (a plus)
- J.D. degree and active licensure in the applicable jurisdiction (Florida)
