Overview As a Research Scientist at Takeda's GI2 Drug Discovery Unit, you will help translate scientific insights into candidate drug programs for gastrointestinal, autoimmune, and inflammatory diseases. You will lead and coordinate research projects from conception to candidate selection, generating rigorous data to inform decisions. You'll contribute scientific expertise in inflammation and immunology while collaborating across cross-functional teams, maintaining Takeda's culture of creativity and urgency. This role offers the opportunity to shape ambitious biology programs and deliver impactful therapies.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership for research project implementation and coordination
- Initiate new experimental approaches to solve specific problems
- Plan, execute and interpret scientific studies using established practices
- Collaborate across teams to solve complex problems and achieve objectives
- Prepare and present project and technical reports to internal and external audiences
Key requirements- PhD in a scientific discipline (or equivalent) or MS with 6+ years relevant experience or BS with 8+ years relevant experience
- Demonstrated accomplishments in inflammation and/or immunology; IBD experience is a plus
- Strong expertise in molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology; experience with cell-based and biochemical assays
