Overview

As a Mechanical Superintendent for hyperscale data center projects, you lead field operations on-site daily and coordinate trade contractors to deliver high-quality work on schedule. You'll work with a multi-disciplinary project team, enforcing safety and driving problem-solving to keep projects on track. The role offers growth through Gilbane University and exposure to large-scale, mission-critical facilities. You'll play a pivotal part in delivering safe, on-time results for demanding clients.

Responsibilities
  • Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and subs to ensure quality and schedule adherence
  • Develops and communicates field work plans and changes
  • Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate issues
  • Ensures permits are obtained for construction activities
  • Establishes credibility with owners, trades, unions, and project partners
  • Acts as primary safety representative and enforces safety compliance
  • Leads contractor meetings and maintains project documentation
  • Creates and updates project schedule with contingency plans
  • Plans and manages jobsite logistics and material orders
  • Develops QIC plan with Operations Excellence
  • Trains Field Engineers and Superintendents on project needs
  • Participates in buyout and scopes of work review
  • Supports T&M tracking and financial forecasting
  • Leads daily huddles, pre-task plans, and performance metrics
  • Fosters inclusive, collaborative team environment
  • May assist with junior tasks
  • Collaborates with sales to align project pursuits with client delivery
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 7-12 years of superintendent experience on commercial/industrial construction projects (value $50 million)
  • Hyperscale data center experience required
  • OSHA 30, STS-C, First Aid/CPR/AED/Stop the Bleed
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction software tools
  • Knowledge of construction safety and cost control
  • Team-oriented with ability to lead and develop others
